mEDIATION EXPERTISE

Before becoming a full-time mediator, Afshari practiced state and federal law, including, at the venerable San Francisco law firms of Cartwright, Slobodin, Bokelman, Borowsky, Wartnick, Moore & Harris (IP, PI, Products, Medical & Legal Malpractice, Employment & Business Litigation), and Owen, Wickersham & Erickson (Trademark, Patent, Copyright, Internet & Trade Secrets Litigation) serving clients ranging from injured individuals to large corporations, resulting in several published opinions.  See, e.g., Earthquake Sound Corp. v. Bumper Industries, Inc., 69 U.S.P.Q.2d 1119 (9th Cir. 2003) (Affirmed $200,000-plus in attorneys' fees for willful infringement); Machine Head v. Dewey Global Holdings, 61 U.S.P.Q2d 1313 (N.D. CA 2002) (Summary judgment of non-confusion; misdirected emails alone, insufficient evidence of actual confusion).

From 2003 to 2006, Afshari Law Firm served clients of various sizes, including The Men's Wearhouse, FUBU, and several  wineries, in trademark, unfair competition, and copyright matters.
